A Legacy of Faith, Family, and Freedom

Alex John Casanova is remembered for his big heart, infectious laugh, constant smiles, strong values, and the way he lived life fully and unapologetically. He was the kind of young man who stood firm in what he believed, loved deeply, worked hard, and showed loyalty to the people and things that mattered most to him.

Alex loved America with his whole being—its freedoms, beliefs, and endless possibilities. His patriotism wasn’t quiet; it flew proudly from the American flags mounted in the bed of his truck and showed up in the shirts, hoodies, and ball caps he wore daily. He believed in doing what was right, staying honest, and walking a path guided by faith. His love for Jesus shaped his character and his desire to become a truly great man.

Outdoors was where Alex felt most at home. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, shooting guns (his or anyone else’s), and spending time with his brother and friends. He was also an avid trap shooter, winning several awards at trap shooting competitions across the state with the 4-P High School Trap Club. He found peace in the simplicity of being outside with people he loved. His Dodge truck, four-wheeler, and motorcycle weren’t just hobbies—they were symbols of his independence and work ethic, because everything he had, he earned on his own.

Alex was a worker through and through. From the age of 14, he always had a job and never missed a weekend of work. He started at McDonald’s, worked at the Auto Skills Shop at Cannon Air Force Base alongside his Pappy, spent time at Clovis Steel, and ultimately found a job he truly loved at Diesel Doctor. There, he discovered a growing passion for diesel mechanics and was excited to build a future doing what he enjoyed. He also dedicated two years to earning his welding certification through Clovis Community College, taking pride in learning a skilled trade and building a solid foundation for his life ahead.

The bond Alex shared with his brother Landon was extraordinary. Their connection was built on loyalty, laughter, and unwavering support, and it extended to a close-knit group of friends and cousins who shared that same brotherhood. Alex was surrounded by some of the most generous, loyal, and good-hearted young men—friends who felt more like family.

One of Alex’s most special bonds was with Kylo, a stray dog who showed up at the family’s doorstep and never left. Kylo slept with Alex every night, and their connection was pure and unbreakable.

Above all else, Alex loved his mom. The bond they shared was powerful, rare, and deeply rooted in everything they went through together. Family meant everything to Alex, and his favorite memories were made with the people he loved most.

Alex’s life continues to be felt in the stories shared, the lessons he lived by, and the love he left behind. He is remembered for his strength, his faith, his work ethic, his loyalty, and the enormous heart he carried into every part of his life.
