The Unscripted Journey

Born in Dar-es- Salaam, Tanzania, Gladness was 35 when she peacefully passed away on May
6th in Oromocto, NB. Gladness is survived by her parents Abella and Sabina Kasheke, sister Mercy Kasheke, brothers Hope and Gracious Kasheke, God son Alistair McCurdy, Aunt Cindy Kabongo, Uncle Jonas Kabongo, cousins JC, Jojo, Gracie Kabongo and many aunties, uncles and cousins in Africa.

Gladness was a Lieutenant in the Royal Canadian Artillery. Her greatest devotion was serving her country as well as family and friends. Gladness also served her community as a nurse at the QEII Hospital before joining the military. Gladness valued her faith in Christ and attended Lifesong Christian Church where she held connections with individuals who played a significant role in her faith as a Christian.

From her platoon: Thoughtful and generous, she gave selflessly to those she loved. With her determination, she embodied strength and kindness, touching everyone she met. With her platoon, she was “the mom” – a pillar and source of inspiration. She left a mark on our lives with her goodness, boundless love, and her drive to bring light to those around her. Her memory will live on in each of us, and she will forever remain in our thoughts.

Gladness will be missed by many from different communities in her life.

Matthew 5:9 “ Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”

Revelation 14:13 “Blessed are the dead who die in the lord…for their deeds will follow them”
