Paul Jerome Jone, 78, of Scottsbor, Ala., died April 3 2022. He was born August 7, 1943, in Lansing, the son of Robert and Monna Mae (Woodward) Jones.

Paul was a man who had many facets. He was a family man who worked hard, played hard, and loved hard. Early in life he decided he wanted to always be his own boss, and as he was a natural born salesman, most of his life was spent in retail and auction sales. Though he he depended on the sale, he found more enjoyment in the chase to find the hidden treasures.

Paul loved to ride his motorcycle, go camping with friends and family, and traveling in his later years. He liked visiting places like Niagara Falls, Dollywood, and Ruby Falls.

Paul also always made sure he gave back to the community. Through the years, he would adopt less fortunate families on holidays for them (always anonymously), he received letters of appreciation from organizations such as churches, veterans hospitals, Shriners and others due to the generous donations he made.

Music was always a love of his, mostly country and gospel. Paul played the guitar and harmonica and even wrote a song or two. He had the opportunity to play at some of his auctions and to record in a sound studio.

Paul was a loving and hardworking father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.

Paul is survived by: his children, Tasha (Tony) Covell of Kaleva, Christyna Jones-Hancock of Fremont, Tyrone Jones of Scottsboro, Ala., and Mitch (Vicki) Peterson of Adrian; 19 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.

Paul was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Timothy Jones; daughter, Tracy Jones; grandsons, Keith Parrington and Scottie Steffes; and siblings Patricia (Ed) Pulsiper, Arlene Ritchards, Robert "Bud" Jones, and Geraldine Schimke.

Interment will follow in the Maple Grove Township Cemetery in Kaleva. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
