Emily Nichole Lockhart, 28, passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born on April 5, 1993 in Amory. Emily was the
sweetest daughter, granddaughter, niece, and big sister that anyone could ask for. She may not have been able to talk, but her pretty eyes and beautiful smile told you all that you needed to know. She loved her family and friends very much, and they knew she loved them too. Emily attended school at both Amory and Hatley and graduated from Hatley in 2012. She enjoyed attending church with her family until her health prevented her from doing so. Emily was the happiest when family was close by, especially her brother, Dawson, and sister, Addison. For the last 5 years, she has enjoyed the love and care from her wonderful caregivers, and her room became affectionately known as “Emily’s clubhouse.” Emily enjoyed watching Disney and Nick Jr. channels, and from time to time, she liked to listen to the occasional fuss on Judge Judy. She thought it was quite humorous when someone was getting reprimanded. Emily especially loved to listen to Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off.” And that’s what she did on a regular basis. She shook it off by being the bravest little fighter through many many medical battles for most of her life. Emily was diagnosed with Retts Syndrome when she was 14 months old which resulted in development regression. Retts also caused many other health complications, but Emily always fought hard and came out on top. However, this last battle was not hers to win here on earth but instead in Heaven with her Heavenly Father. She is now skipping, jumping, dancing, talking, and singing. She will be greatly missed, but she is in a much better place. Emily was the perfect example of purity, bravery, and strength. Our angel touched many lives, and will continue to do so.
