Lou & Mary Schietromo

Luciano "Lucky Lou" and Mary Schietromo Together Forever

Luciano "Lucky Lou" Schietromo and his beloved wife, Mary, shared a life filled with love, laughter, and the simple joys of family. Their story began in Silver Lake, where Lou first met Mary, a dark-eyed beauty who would become the love of his life.

Lou and Mary married in a heartfelt backyard wedding, surrounded by family and friends. Their love grew stronger with time, and in 1956, they welcomed their cherished daughter, Angela. Sundays were spent savoring polenta, playing music, and creating memories that would live on in the hearts of their family.

Mary had a secret that only a few close friends and family knew: she was psychic. Gifted with extraordinary intuition, Mary created her own tarot cards in secret, sharing her insights and abilities only with those she trusted most. This incredible gift was passed down to her daughter, Angela, and grandson, Matthew. Together, they inherited Mary’s unique abilities, carrying her spiritual legacy forward in ways she could never have imagined.

What Mary didn’t foresee was how her gift would one day impact the world. After her passing on August 23, 1994, her family brought her gift into the public eye. Her grandson Matthew became renowned as America’s top psychic medium, starring in a hit TV show and using his abilities to bring comfort and hope to countless people. Lou often said he was proud of the way Mary’s gift had blossomed into something so meaningful and impactful, keeping her memory alive in the hearts of many.

After retiring, Lou found a new adventure later in life, joining his grandson Matthew on his live tours. Whether as a hand stamper, usher, or simply the lovable "Captain," Lou worked alongside Matthew, embracing every moment of their journey together. Known for his charm, Lou often delighted audiences by kissing hands when he was supposed to be stamping them, winning hearts wherever he went. This time on the road with his grandson became a highlight of Lou’s later years, allowing him to witness firsthand the incredible legacy of his wife Mary’s psychic gift through Angela and Matthew.

Lou was the steady, loving anchor of their family, working tirelessly as a jewelry caster and whistling Italian tunes as he juggled three jobs. Retirement brought time for Lou to embrace life’s simple pleasures, like teaching his grandson how to dig for clams at Oakland Beach, cruising in his gold Chevy Malibu, and earning his nickname, “The Captain.”

On June 28, 2018, Lou peacefully joined Mary in eternal rest. Now reunited, their love story continues beyond this world. Together again, Lou and Mary are singing "C'e la Luna Mezzo Mare" with the angels, watching over their family with pride and joy.
