In Loving Memory of Jose Maria Sustaita "Chema"
February 27, 1964 – July 13, 2015

Jose Maria Sustaita, 51, of Freeport, Texas, passed away on July 13, 2015, in the city he called home. Born on February 27, 1964, in Camargo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, Chema lived a life rooted in hard work, deep love for his family, and a generous spirit that touched everyone he met.

Chema was a man of many talents. Known as a true handyman, he could fix, build, or create just about anything. Whether it was concrete work, painting, mechanical repairs, or helping a neighbor in need, he always offered a helping hand without hesitation. He found joy in the simple pleasures—fishing by the water, barbecuing with loved ones, and listening to his favorite corridos.

Chema is survived by his beloved wife, Ana Maria Esquivel; his children, Jose Francisco Sustaita Esquivel, Rebeca Trigo and her husband Raul Trigo, and Ana Smith; and his cherished grandchildren, Rosalynn Trigo, Jose Francisco Sustaita Jr., Victor Uriel Martinez Jr., Angela Larae Martinez, Ruby Trigo, and Gabriel Thomas Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Sustaita and Rebeca Luna, whose memories he carried close to his heart.

Chema leaves behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, and unconditional love. His warm smile, selflessness, and unforgettable presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at Iglesia Nueva Vida, 1715 Ave Q, Freeport, Texas.

On Monday, July 20, 2015, Chema will be interred at Angleton Cemetery 328 Cemetery Road, Angleton, TX at 1:00 p.m.
