Olivia Joyce Eastep Obituary
Olivia Joyce Eastep, passed peacefully in the arms of her parents and stepped into the arms of Jesus on the night of February 14, 2023 at her home in Smithville, Missouri. She was surrounded by her family whose unwavering love was evident with every detailed provision necessary to meet her needs.

Olivia was born on May 30, 2016 in Liberty, Missouri. From the moment she was welcomed into the home of her parents, Jeffery and Shelby Eastep, Olivia was cared for with steadfast focus that allowed her to have happy childhood experiences with her family and friends. Olivia’s brother Emmett was glad to be her big brother. Olivia, often called Liv, soon had another brother, Benton, who grew alongside her, almost like a twin brother. One more brother, Jude, joined the band of boys who watched over their sister.

While Olivia dealt with developmental challenges, she was always included in family time and adventures. Olivia was a happy and sassy little girl with a personality larger than life. Though she was not able to speak everyone knew what she was saying whether it was a quick bite on your hand, squiggle, wiggle or her momma’s insights to make sure everyone knew what she needed. Her parents showered her with the beauty of this world. One of her favorite outdoor places to be with her parents and brothers was on the water at Smithville Lake. Experiences at her grandparent’s ranch, cuddle time with aunts and uncles, and visits with her cousins and friends kept her pretty blue eyes focused on what brought a smile. Six years with beautiful Olivia was not enough but those years were full of life. Olivia’s impact will live on through her family forever.

Olivia is survived by her parents Jeffery and Shelby Eastep, her brothers Emmett, Benton and Jude. She is survived by her great grandfather Richard Foote of Pleasant Hill, great grandmother Annie Keays of Raymore, grandparents Troy and Vanessa Foote of Trimble. Aunts and Uncles include Courtney and Willam Eastep of Excelsior Springs, Jessica Eastep (Tyler Holman) of Lawson, Luke Foote of Trimble, Parker Mertz of Olathe, Kansas, Skyler Mertz of Kansas City, Abigail Mertz of Trimble. Her closest cousins Josie and Lilly Holman, Stoney Jo and Cain Clevenger and many more beloved family members. Liv is preceded in death by her great grandmother, her namesake, Joyce Foote and her great grandfather Robert Keays.

A Visitation will be held Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 4:00-6:00 pm with a Celebration of Life Service immediately following at Northland Cathedral located at 101 NW 99th St, Kansas City, MO 64155. Jeffery and Shelby request that all attending remember their daughter Liv was a bright light in this world and Thursday is a Celebration of Life to honor all Olivia was. They request no black or dark colors are worn. Liv would love your best party dress with bright colors, glitter and sass. Families affiliated with support groups such as Hope Outdoors, MOPS, HIE, Smithville Wrestling, Smithville Schools please wear colors or a shirt affiliated with your organization. Children are welcome and will provide a breath of fresh air through their smiles to her brothers and her parents.
