Betty and Ernie had a wonderful life.
Betty was born July 22, 1936 in Whitney, Texas.
She attended Baldwin Park High School, Baldwin Park, CA., and graduated
in 1954. After high school, Betty worked at Bank of America in Baldwin
Park, CA. Betty began working for the city of Baldwin Park in the 1980’s as a Business License Clerk and later became Deputy City Clerk.
Betty had three children, Sherry Smith, Rick Branek and Susan Branek Antaky.
Ernie was born December 12, 1930 in Flat Creek, Alabama.
He attended Hewitt High School and graduated in 1950. He served in the U.S. Airforce from 1950-1953 and worked for the Santa Fe Railroad from 1953-1986.
Betty met Ernie at First Southern Baptist Church,
El Monte, CA. and after a brief courtship they married on November 28,
1997. Their love for each other was profound and limitless. They were married for 27 years.
Betty had a great sense of humor and had a contagious laugh…this was passed down to her children and grandchildren. Betty would make her signature Cowboy Cookies during the holidays along with fruit salad…which was always a big hit! Betty was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and friend.
Ernie loved reading and was the king of one liners like "I'll see you around the pool hall" and "be good to yourself". He was a loving husband, step-dad, grandpa and friend.
Betty and Ernie loved playing games…like dominoes and solitaire on the computer. They were both active members of the church and taught Sunday School. Betty and Ernie loved family and were very involved in their grandchildren's lives. They helped them year round with school work year round in "Betty and Ernie's School of Knowledge".
Betty went to be with the Lord on May 19, 2024. Ernie joined her on November 23, 2024.
