LaPorte City-Ronald L. Mangrich, 80, of LaPorte City, died in his home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. He was born February 21, 1944, in Waterloo, son of Paul and Elma M. Sondag Mangrich. Ron graduated from Don Bosco High School. He then graduated from Omaha Technical Trade School. He married Peggy L. Frost on Aug. 1, 1964, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Gilbertville. Ron worked at John Deere for over 36 years until he retired in 1999, from the TCAO on Donald St.
He was a man of many talents and interests. Ron was an all-around handy guy and a true craftsman. If he wasn't busy on his hobby farm enjoying life, you might find him woodworking, welding, spending some time drag racing or working for Rick Spence.
