Carl Christian Jensen
Carl Christian Jensen passed away on September 21, 2021. He was the second of four sons born to Melvon and Christina Jensen in Westwood, California on July 26, 1936, his mother's birthday. His family moved to Portland, Oregon and then to Bloomington, Minnesota, where he graduated from high school. After graduation he worked for the FBI in St. Paul and it was during summer the following year that he met his future wife, Lois Lynette Jensen (no relation!) when she had traveled from Utah to visit family members living in Minnesota. He served an honorable mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Southern California mission and upon his return in 1959, joined the Air National Guard. Carl married his sweetheart Lynette in the Logan Utah LDS Temple on October 22, 1959. Carl and Lynette were blessed with eight children and they raised their family in various locations in Arizona, Kansas, and Utah, finally settling in the state of New Mexico where they have lived for the past twenty-one years. Carl was the founder of several companies in the United States, Ireland, and the United Kingdom, and one of his greatest pleasures was in actively planning and working on new ideas and concepts. He loved people and loved to help others build and grow. It was important to him to not only do the right thing, but to do it for the right reason. He had a strong testimony of his Savior, Jesus Christ, and could frequently be found with his scriptures open on his desk. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Melvon Christian Jensen and Christina Elizabeth Olson Jensen, and his elder brother Melvon Curtis Jensen. He is survived by his wife ‘My Beauty', Lois Lynette Jensen; his children: Jacque Lynn Jensen, Christy Anne Kropp (Steve), Carl Christian Jensen Jr., Richard Melvon Jensen (Liezette), Michael David Jensen, Matthew Charles Jensen (Sheri), Paul Curtis Jensen, and Amy Lynette Sherwood (Justin); 23 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren; and two younger brothers, Gary O. Jensen and Larry O. Jensen. He loved his family most of all and will be missed immeasurably by them and many others. Private services will be held in Utah.
Lois Lynette Jensen
One of Heavenly Father’s choicest daughters, Lois Lynette Jensen, returned to Him on September 25, 2024, at the age of 84. She was the youngest of three girls born to Charles Jensen and Lois Shuman Jensen on October 28, 1939, in Tremonton, Utah. Her family moved from there to Ogden, Utah when she was small, and then to Brigham City, Utah where she graduated from high school. Lynette had very happy memories of her years growing up there and often said it really was ‘Happy Days.’

She traveled to Minnesota the summer she was sixteen years old to help her sister with a new baby and while there she met a young man named Carl Christian Jensen. Although she was determined to not be impressed by him, he finally won her heart, and they were married in the Logan Utah Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on October 22, 1959. They both wanted a large family and were blessed with eight children, raising their family in various locations in Arizona, Kansas, and Utah, finally settling in Las Cruces, New Mexico where they have been for the past twenty-plus years.

One of Mom’s great joys in life was raising her family; she loves babies and children of all ages and was always ready at the drop of a hat to help out when any new little ones joined the family. She loved spending whatever time she could with her grandchildren and cherished them all. She loves people and although she was painfully shy as a little girl, was taught by a Primary teacher that if she gave three sincere compliments every day, she could overcome that, which she did beautifully. She made friends wherever she went, even while waiting in line at the grocery store.

Our Mom has a fantastic sense of humor, and every activity and trip was more fun when she was there. She is a skilled seamstress and always sewed for her family as well as many others. She loves books and music and especially enjoys playing the piano and organ. She enjoyed traveling with family members to different countries and treasured the time several years ago when she was able to visit the Holy Land. She especially loves her Heavenly Father and her Savior, Jesus Christ, and always turned to Them in both good and difficult times. Prayer was second nature to her, and she knew that those prayers were always heard and answered. She was strong in her faith and in her knowledge of the gospel plan and shared that with her family.

Lynette was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl Christian Jensen, her parents Charles Jensen and Lois Shuman Jensen Kendrick, and her sisters Martha Elaine Johnson and Mary Lou Evans. She is survived by her children, Jacque Lynn Jensen, Christy Anne Kropp (Steve), Carl Christian Jensen Jr., Richard Melvon Jensen (Liezette), Michael David Jensen, Matthew Charles Jensen (Sheri), Paul Curtis Jensen, and Amy Lynette Sherwood (Justin); 23 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren who love and will miss her more than can ever be expressed. Private services will be held in Utah.
