Mary Ann Tucker Blanch August 17, 1967 – August 8, 2025 Mary Ann Tucker Blanch, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025, just shy of her 58th birthday. Born and raised in Ogden, Utah, on August 17, 1967, Mary lived a life filled with music, laughter, love, and deep devotion to her family and friends. Mary was a proud graduate of Ben Lomond High School, class of 1985. She was later thrilled to earn her associate’s degree as a medical assistant from Stevens-Henager College—a milestone she was incredibly proud of. Mary was first married to Derek Haas in 1986, and together they had two wonderful children, Landon and Kiera. Mary and Derek later divorced. In 1996, she married her soulmate and best friend, Thad Blanch. They recently celebrated 29 beautiful years of marriage, full of love, laughter, and partnership. Thad was truly her “everything.” Mary spent many years working for Ogden City Schools before retiring, where she made lifelong friendships and impacted many young lives. She had a true zest for life—she was an avid supporter of the local music scene and could often be found enjoying live shows with her friends, singing along to her favorite songs. But more than anything, Mary loved her people fiercely. She made it her life’s mission to support, uplift, and love those around her. Her grandchildren, Brynlee and Beckham, were the light of her life. She found pure joy in afternoon school pickups, lunch dates, and every precious moment she spent with them. She loved them insurmountably—they were her strength, her pride, her heart. She also poured endless love into her nieces—Bronte’, Karlie, and Brochel—and her great-nephew and niece, Bennett and Journey. For the past two and a half years, Mary lovingly helped tend to Bennett alongside her sister Tammy. She often joked that his boundless energy kept her young. Those special days were filled with laughter, love, and connection she treasured deeply. Mary had a one-of-a-kind spirit. She loved Halloween (almost as much as she loved Disney!), and The Nightmare Before Christmas was her absolute favorite—especially Jack and Sally, who reminded her of the kind of forever love she believed in. Her heart was pure gold. She had a gift for making everyone feel seen, supported, and safe. She was the wife who loved fiercely and stood by your side no matter what, she was the friend who showed up, the sister who listened, the mom who always checked in, and the grandma who made every moment feel like the most special one in the world. Mary is survived by her loving husband, Thad Blanch; her children, Landon Haas and Kiera (Courtny) Weeks; her grandchildren, Brynlee and Beckham Weeks; her mother, Kris (Larry) Cook; her father, Robert C. (Linda) Tucker; her siblings, Shannon (Shane) Brown, Tammy (Marc) Blanchard, Lori (Keith) Kirkman, Trent (Shelly) Cook, Bryan (Kerstin) Cook, Steven (Lynne) Cook, Kevin (April) Cook; and her beloved nieces and nephews: Bronte’ (Coleman) Hansen, Karlie (Brayden) Sexton, Brochel (Garett) Leatherow; and her great nephew and niece: Bennett Leatherow, and Journey Hansen.
